Attack at the beach

Last Sunday I went to the beach again with my surfing friends. The weather hasn’t been friendly the past week so we went to a tame beach also. Tame in a sense it doesn’t have big crazy waves, just fun for swimming.

Of course my friends brought their dogs, so there were 4 dogs we had to tend to. The beasts were handful, we had to take turn walking them, playing with them and swim with them. Two of them, Paco and River were just enemies, so they had to be far away from each other.

I was walking toward the water with Paco, T was with Bernard, when out of nowhere this enormous German Shepherd walked slowly toward them and bitten Bernard. T was shocked, tried to pull the dog, but this GS dog was so huge and strong she couldn’t get hold of the leash. I stood there trying to hold Paco from attacking the dog, watched as Bernard was swinging left-right like a flag in the GS's jaw.

We had no idea who the owner was but finally she ran screaming at the dog and hitting it to let Bernard go. She kept yelling in some foreign language.

The beach was quite full with tourists and their dogs, so everybody got tensed upon watching what just happened. A guy yelled at the lady to watch her dog, and put a leash on the dog so it doesn’t attack other dogs. She yelled back defending her dog. Well, Bernard wasn’t provoking the GS, so we had no idea what did.

My friend was shocked so she decided to just leave. Good thing there was a nice lady who happened to bring emergency meds, so she put antiseptic cream on it. The wound was not really deep, and didn’t bleed much so we just hope Bernard’s ok.
